We Join the Ford Fund and North Texas Ford Dealers for a Read Event at Solar Preparatory School for Girls

There is nothing more fulfilling to us than knowing we are inspiring young students to love reading! Today, our team along with the Ford Fund, the Girl Scouts, University of Texas at Arlington student teachers and North Texas Ford Dealers, met for a morning on April 30 at the amazing Solar Preparatory School for Girls. This is a two-year-old all girls school where every member of the staff and students is a Girl Scout. These ladies are on it! We read to Pre-K girls about Brontorina – the dinosaur who wanted to dance, but lacked a large dance studio and certainly did not have dance slippers! Who school mates and teachers rally to make her unusual dream come true. Each of the 45 students received a Ford backpack stuffed with goodies including their own copy of Brontorina. They also learned about how to build a tiny dinosaur out of straws, toothpicks and marshmallows. It was a fun and sticky mess for sure! Way to rock it ladies and thank you for putting some S.T.E.A.M. behind those smiles today. And thank you Ford Fund for donating 550 books to the Solar library!
